All meetings are at the Midland Band Club, Hallwood Road, Kettering at 7.00pm for 7.30 pm unless otherwise stated. Go to the Contact Us page to view a map.

We are always seeking speakers on fuchsia and all gardening related subjects, including wildlife etc, from within a 40 mile radius of Kettering. If you have a presentation to offer then please contact our Secretary.

January 17th 2008

Our Annual General Meeting when we discuss matters affecting the club, elect Officers and Committee members for the next twelve months and determine the level of subscription. We also hold a Gardening Knowledge Quiz for valuable prizes, and have refreshments.

February 21st 2008

An evening with Nick Warliker, former head gardener to Royalty, radio gardening personality and show judge. Hear about the latest trends in gardening and take the opportunity to have your gardening questions answered by an expert.

March 20th 2008

Michael Peachey, local artist well known for his Fine Art and Murals, using his own brand of humour, will talk and illustrate ‘’Floral Art with a Difference’’. This is the meeting where club plants are distributed and the ‘’Bulb Competition’’ is judged.

April 17th 2008

Nick Hamilton, son of the late, great Geoff Hamilton, into whose hands the care of Barnsdale Gardens has been entrusted will talk on ‘’Those Gardening Years’’.

May 15th 2008

Andrew Wickham talking on ‘’Late flowering Chrysanthemums’’. Famous in the Chrysanthemum world, he will explain the do’s and don’ts of growing this eye catching plant to get blooms well into the autumn and even beyond Christmas!
At this meeting members are also encouraged to bring any surplus plants (not exclusively fuchsias), for sale for the benefit of club funds. This is your chance to clear out that surplus stock and perhaps acquire that plant you have always fancied, and at a bargain price.

June 26th 2008

Fuchsia expert Nick Ramsall from the Leicester Fuchsia Society will talk and demonstrate how to grow award winning standard fuchsias.
Amateur and professional growers alike will learn something of benefit.

Emily Mitchell, the geranium and pelargonium specialist from Cramden Nursery near Northampton will discuss the variety of plants available today, ranging from the old fashioned hybrids to the new Zonals, Ivy Leaf, Scented, Regals, Decorative Regals and Angel Pelargoniums.

A chance to hear a real expert on fuchsias, Malcolm Beerman, Eastern representative of the British Fuchsia Society, will talk on how to bring out the best in the plants you have inyour garden or greenhouse.

Caroline Tait is manager of the world famous Coton Manor Gardens near Northampton. She will share with members the techniques she uses to achieve year round visual impact in the gardens under her control.

October 16th 2008

Jenny Dickins, a local enthusiast and expert on Orchids will introduce us to the range and quality of these beautiful plants. A talk illustrated by examples of the plants she is discussing.

November 20th 2008

Doreen Riley and Jean Wigmore return by popular request to demonstrate the art of the flower arranger just in time for the festive season.

December 11th 2008

The eagerly awaited Christmas Party. Entry is by ticket only and you have to be a member to get a ticket. Live music, decorations, competitions, seasonal refreshments and spectacular raffle prizes make it a night to remember. See you with your dancing shoes on!
